The Case Management Service for Children ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that involves the raising, care, and education of children who are temporarily or permanently deprived of parental care, including children with special needs (children with disabilities, abused/neglected children, children with behavioral disorders, children with chronic illnesses, etc.) by a foster parent/family, at their home.

The foster parent is a natural person, certified under the conditions provided by law, who provides at their home or, as applicable, at their residence, the raising, care, and education of the child during the application of the special protection measure of placement, emergency placement for the child temporarily or permanently separated from their parents, or, as applicable, during the respite period of another foster parent.

Persons residing within the territorial range of GALAȚI county, interested in becoming a foster parent, submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Galați a request for evaluation in order to obtain the foster parent certificate, accompanied by the documents mentioned below.

The foster parent certificate is issued by the Galați Child Protection Commission for an indefinite period and is reviewed every two years based on the evaluation of the activity carried out by the foster parent.
