The operational procedure presents the way in which the recruitment, evaluation, and training of persons who wish to become professional foster carers is carried out, as well as the certification of professional foster carers capable of ensuring the upbringing and care of children temporarily or permanently separated from their parents. The professional foster carer is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who, through their activity carried out at their own home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in foster care. The person wishing to obtain the certificate of professional foster carer submits a request for evaluation in order to obtain the certificate of professional foster carer, addressed to DGASPC Botoșani, to which supporting documents are attached (copies of civil status documents and educational certificates, criminal record). Following the evaluation, applicants will submit a request for issuance of the certificate of professional foster carer to the Child Protection Commission Botoșani, in which it is mandatory to mention the number of children for whom the applicant considers they can simultaneously ensure optimal care conditions, their age group and gender, and the availability to care for children with special needs.
