Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, at the "1 December 1918" University of Alba Iulia, of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*

The automatic recognition procedure of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited educational institutions abroad applies to:
a) Romanian citizens,
b) citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation
c) citizens from third countries.
The procedure applies in the case of positions obtained in:
a) accredited university institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and from the Swiss Confederation;
b) prestigious universities from other states as listed in the List of Prestigious Universities from Other States, approved by the order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated;
c) other accredited university institutions abroad, except those mentioned, only on the basis of an international reciprocal recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level;
The applicant submits a request accompanied by a file for recognition of the academic position. The evaluation committee, appointed by the rector’s decision, analyzes the file, prepares an evaluation report, and issues a decision regarding the resolution method of the request, which is communicated to the applicant within 30 days from registration. By exception, this term may be extended if the committee requests additional supporting documents from the applicant or if the documents require extra verification addressed to other competent institutions. The additional requested documents must be submitted by the applicant within a maximum of 15 working days from the date of request.
The recognition file can be submitted: - in person, at the General Secretariat of UAB, in Alba Iulia, str. Gabriel Bethlen no. 5;
- online, at the address: chava@uab.ro
- via the Single Electronic Control Point (PCUe)
- via postal/courier services to the address: “1 December 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Romania, str. Gabriel Bethlen no. 5, postal code 510009.
The evaluation committee’s decision or the appeals committee’s decision, as applicable, as well as the rector’s decision, is issued to the applicant as follows:
- at the university headquarters, during the university working hours;
- by mail, to the declared address;
- electronically to the address indicated in the recognition request - via the Single Electronic Contact Point (PCUe).
Recognition by UAB of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited university institutions abroad is valid and produces legal effects only at the UAB level. Recognition of the academic position by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout the territory of Romania.
Recognition of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited university institutions abroad does not automatically confer the right to occupy a teaching position at UAB. Occupation of a teaching position at UAB is obtained by completing the internal procedures and regulations in force at the time of the request. Occupation of a teaching position in the Romanian university education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force.

The decision of the evaluation committee may be contested within 10 working days from its communication to the applicant. The appeal is analyzed by the appeal resolution committee, which prepares a report and issues a final decision, within a maximum of 10 working days from the registration of the appeal.
The Rector issues the Decision of recognition/non-recognition of the teaching position, which is communicated to the applicant within 5 working days from the date of its issuance.
Against the Rector's decision of non-recognition of the teaching position, the applicant may lodge an appeal with the competent court within 30 days from the date of notification.
