Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

According to the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Implementation Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of setting up new pharmaceutical units, as well as the replacement of the chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the chief position), shall address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

This document is also necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the C.F.R. no. 1/2007, and revised by Decision no.1 dated 15.09.2023.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;
- Within a maximum of 3 days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;
- Within a maximum of 10 days from receiving the application, the C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Register – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants under signature.

-The issuance fee for the current professional certificate according to Decision no.1/21.11.2024 is 150 lei.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file containing the documents attached below.
