Operational procedure regarding the recognition at the “Eftimie Murgu” University of Reșița of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*

Within UEMR, teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries," approved by MENCS Order No. 5.462/2018 and periodically updated, are recognized.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.

Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned above are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

For the recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad, UEMR may collaborate with the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) and the National Council for Attestation of Titles, Diplomas and University Certificates (CNATDCU).

The teaching profession is listed at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and additions.*

Appeal routes

The appeal against the rector’s decision must be registered within 48 hours from the date it is issued at the Rectorate of UEMR or through the single electronic contact point. The decision of the appeals committee is issued within 72 hours from the date of registration. Subsequently, the final decision of the university can be challenged in court.
