The family support allowance is a form of aid for low-income families who are raising and caring for children up to 18 years old.
Granting the family support allowance aims to supplement the incomes of families in order to ensure better conditions for raising and educating children, as well as to encourage school-age children in the care of low-income families to attend a form of education, organized according to the law, as stipulated in art.1, para.(2) of Law no. 277/2010 regarding the family support allowance, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions.

In the situation where the applicant is dissatisfied with the manner in which the request has been resolved, the provisions of Article 41 of Law no. 277/2010 regarding the family support allowance, with subsequent amendments and completions, are applicable: ,, (1) The mayor's written decision regarding the establishment or rejection of the right to the allowance, and the director's decision regarding the recovery of wrongly received sums, can be challenged according to the provisions of the Administrative Litigation Law no. 554/2004, with subsequent amendments and completions. (2) Requests, actions, and appeals regarding the right to the allowance are exempt from stamp duty.'
