Details

The state allowance for children is granted to all children up to the age of 18, without discrimination. The state allowance for children is also granted to young people who have turned 18, who attend high school or vocational education courses, organized according to the law, until they finish them, except for those who repeat the school year, except those who repeat it for health reasons, proven with a medical certificate.

If the parents had the status of migrant workers, they will submit supporting documents proving the address (address of INS-Institution that pays the allowance in the country/locality of the EU member state) and the insurance number from the EU member state where the child was born, as well as a declaration attesting the period during which they worked, whether they receive or have received the allowance from the respective state, and their current place of residence. If the parents have not worked abroad and no documents have been drawn up for them in the EU member state, the applicant will submit a declaration specifying the period spent abroad, that they have not received the allowance from the respective state, and their current place of residence.*

For legal representatives who request the establishment of the right to state allowance, according to Law 61/1993 (republished), and whose children are born in one of the member states of the European Union or whose children have lived together with their parents for a certain period in one of these member states, annex no. 1 to Council Regulation no. 1408/1971 must be completed and compulsorily attached to the allowance file. Also, persons who have had or have residency in one of the member states of the European Union will also present residency documents, in copy.*
