The procedure mentions the way of ensuring free access to public interest information for the citizen or other interested parties (mass media, NGOs, etc.) according to the provisions of Law no. 544/2001, with subsequent amendments and completions, within the Local Police of Ploiești. Through this procedure, the aim is to ensure a correct, efficient, operative, and legal circuit of requests for public interest information.

The operational procedure targets the free and unrestricted access of the person to any public interest information, thus defined by law, constituting one of the fundamental principles of the relationships between individuals and public authorities, in accordance with the Constitution of Romania and with the international documents ratified by the Parliament of Romania. The procedure establishes the way in which communication to the authorities, institutions, and interested persons is ensured regarding the acts issued by the director, under the conditions of Law no. 544/2001 regarding free access to information of public interest. The procedure is carried out especially for good collaboration between citizens and public institutions, for the interests of the public institution, the citizens, and the employees of the public institution.
