The family support allowance is a form of assistance for families with low incomes, up to 634 lei per family member, who are raising and caring for children up to 18 years old.
The granting of the family support allowance aims to supplement the income of families in order to ensure better conditions for raising and educating children, as well as to encourage school-age children in the care of low-income families to attend courses in an educational form organized according to the law, according to art. 1, para. 2 of Law no. 277/2010 on the family support allowance, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions.
If the family owns, rents, uses, or otherwise possesses at least one of the goods included in the list of goods that lead to exclusion from the granting of social assistance, provided in art. 8, para. (2) and (3), of Law 416/2001 (Annex no. 3 of Government Decision 778/2013), they are not entitled to the allowance.
