Title XIV - Exercise of the pharmacist profession. Organization and functioning of the College of Pharmacists of Romania

• Chapter I Exercise of the pharmacist profession,

• Chapter II Provisions regarding the exercise of the pharmacist profession on the territory of Romania by pharmacists who are citizens of a member state of the EU, a state belonging to the EEA, or the Swiss Confederation

According to:

Art. 563 -The pharmacist profession is exercised on the territory of Romania, under the conditions of this law, by individuals who hold an official pharmacy qualification title, as follows:

a) citizens of the Romanian state;

b) citizens of a member state of the EU, a state belonging to the EEA, or the Swiss Confederation;

c) the spouse of a Romanian citizen, as well as the direct line descendants and ascendants who are dependents of a Romanian citizen, regardless of their citizenship;

d) family members of a citizen of one of the states provided in letter b), as defined by art. 2 para. (1) point 3 of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 102/2005 regarding the free movement on the territory of Romania of citizens of EU and EEA member states and citizens of the Swiss Confederation, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions;

e) third-country citizens who are beneficiaries of the status of permanent resident in Romania;

f) beneficiaries of the status of long-term resident, granted by one of the states provided in letter b).

2. For pharmacists who are citizens of third countries

Required documents:

• Letter issued by the Ministry of Education and Research – National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) recommending the completion of a practical internship in a public or hospital pharmacy, approved by the College of Pharmacists of Romania;

• Certificate of completion of the full practical internship in a public or hospital pharmacy;

• Copy of bachelor's degree diploma;

• Copy of identity document;

• Practice notebook stamped and signed by the territorial College, where the pharmacy where the internship took place is located.

3. Verification of language knowledge

According to Art. 585^1*):

(4) The College of Pharmacists of Romania may carry out the verification of language knowledge only after the issuance, in accordance with EU rules, of the European professional card for pharmacists or, as applicable, only after the recognition of the professional qualification of the pharmacist in question.

In assessing language knowledge, CFR will take into account the duration of the activity to be performed.

Proof of language knowledge can be provided with a language competence certificate.
