The procedure is addressed to persons who wish to obtain an identity card upon acquiring/reacquiring Romanian citizenship.
In the case of minors who have reached the age of 14 and are not included in the certificate attesting the acquisition of citizenship by one of the parents, they are directed for clarification of the situation to the Ministry of Justice;
Upon the issuance of the identity document, the individual concerned shall hand over the residence permit issued by the Authority for Foreigners to be sent to the issuing structure together with one of the copies of the certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice or by the diplomatic missions or consular offices of Romania.
In the situation where the person no longer possesses the residence permit, a declaration is requested regarding the conditions under which the document was lost or stolen.
