In order to encourage school attendance, the School Supplies Program was launched in 2002, targeting students in state education, primary and secondary, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.

The composition of the school supplies packages granted to students is determined based on the Methodology for the application of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Helping Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the acquisition of supplies for preschoolers, as well as the addition of backpacks to the packages of supplies granted to students in the primary and secondary cycles.
