In order to encourage school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, targeting students in public, primary and lower secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.

The content of the school supply packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 approving Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Helping Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, as well as the supplementing with backpacks of the packages of supplies granted to students in primary and lower secondary education.
