In order to encourage school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which targets students in state education, primary and secondary, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.
The composition of the school supply packages given to students is established based on the Methodology for the application of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for approving Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.
Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education at the beginning of September 2017 through the Operational Program Assistance for Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020 was approved. The decision allows, starting this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, respectively the supplementation of supply packages for primary and secondary students with backpacks.
