This procedure describes the way in which natural persons, Romanian citizens, can request certification based on an exam for the purpose of practicing in Romania the activity of energy auditor for buildings. The energy auditor for buildings carries out the activity as an authorized natural person or as an employee of a legal entity, according to the legislation in force and is obliged to comply with the provisions of the code of conduct for building energy auditors. The status of energy auditor for buildings is proven by the certification issued by the competent authority. The right to practice is proven by the valid ID card issued by the competent authority together with the certification.

Decisions regarding the profession of energy auditor for buildings can be challenged before Romanian administrative courts, with respect to material and territorial jurisdiction, as well as the deadlines established by art. 7 and art. 10 of the Administrative Litigation Law no. 554/2004, as amended and supplemented.

Regulated profession: The profession of certified energy auditor for buildings is found at position 12 in Annex no. 2 to Law no. 200/2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, as amended and supplemented.
