Details

​The Foster Care Service ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that involves the upbringing, care, and education of the child by a professional foster carer, at their home. The professional foster carer is an individual, certified according to the law, who, through their activity at their home, provides the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children entrusted to them. Individuals residing within the territorial area of Giurgiu County who are interested in becoming foster carers should submit an application for the evaluation of their capacity, accompanied by the documents listed below, to the Giurgiu County Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection. The certificate is issued by the Giurgiu Child Protection Commission and is valid for 3 years.
