Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 as amended, as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Implementing Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), must contact the county branches to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the Romanian College of Pharmacists no. 1/2007, a decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate shall be completed by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial branch where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receipt of the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial branch shall send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receipt of the application, the C.P.R. shall prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial branch;

- The Current Professional Certificate shall be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which shall prepare and send it to the territorial branch;

- The territorial branch shall keep a Register – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants against signature.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 150 lei, shall be paid into the account of the territorial branch.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist shall submit to the territorial branch a file that will include the documents listed below.
