Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the chief position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country’s borders.

The methodology for drawing up and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, a decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drawn up by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard application for drawing up and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, C.F.R. will draw up the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will keep a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in that county – and will hand them to the applicants against signed receipt.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 150 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College RO14 BTRL RONC RT06 4114 6901.
