Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of setting up new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the chief position), shall address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required by pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, a decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007 as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college with which the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard request form for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, who will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of Records - with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county - and will hand them to the applicants under a signature of receipt.

The certificate issuance fee, amounting to 150 lei, shall be paid into the account of the territorial college.
