This procedure establishes the method by which automatic recognition is carried out, within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, of the quality of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.

The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries who have obtained the quality of doctoral supervisor in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states" approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated.

The profession of PhD supervisor is found at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania with subsequent amendments and additions.*

Appeal routes

The decision of non-recognition can be contested within 15 days from notification, through a signed application submitted to the University Registry. Appeals are resolved within 5 days from registration by the Appeals Resolution Committee. Subsequently, the university's final decision can be challenged in court.
