Procedure regarding the recognition at Transilvania University of Brașov of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*

The procedure establishes the method by which the automatic recognition is carried out, by Transilvania University of Brașov, of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad for persons applying for a teaching position within the university.

Transilvania University of Brașov recognizes teaching positions in higher education obtained at:

a) accredited higher education or research and development institutions in a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation;

b) accredited higher education or research and development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved/updated by order of the relevant minister;

c) accredited higher education or research and development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

Recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad according to the Methodology regarding the recognition at Transilvania University of Brașov of teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of Transilvania University of Brașov.

The processing fee for the recognition files of teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is 150 lei/file.

The application must obligatorily mention all contact (correspondence) details of the applicant, for the purpose of communication during the recognition process, with the applicant assuming responsibility for the accuracy of the declared data. The university cannot be held responsible for not resolving the application in the event that the applicant does not follow the correspondence received or does not respond within the deadline to the requests regarding the recognition file.*

In copy, if the diploma was obtained in Romania or in an accredited higher education institution from the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, or in a university included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of Education. If the diploma was obtained at other accredited higher education institutions abroad than those mentioned above, the PhD diploma will be accompanied by a recognition certificate issued by CNRED, in copy if the diploma is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and an authorized translation for other languages. In case the field of the PhD is not indicated on the PhD diploma, it will be accompanied by a document issued by the institution that issued the diploma, containing the name of the field of doctoral university studies in which the applicant obtained the diploma and the title of doctor, in copy for documents in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and an authorized translation for other languages.*

This document is issued by the institution that granted the teaching position: a) accredited higher education or research-development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and from the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved/updated by order of the relevant minister; c) accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.*

In the case of a decision not to recognize the teaching position obtained abroad, the applicant is also informed of the motivated decision of the evaluation committee, and may submit an appeal within 30 days from the date of postal confirmation of receipt of the decision, through a motivated request to be submitted at the University registry, or sent by mail, or sent electronically (email to the address mentioned in this procedure, or in the electronic platform where the application was registered – as applicable).

The appeal submitted by the applicant will be reviewed and resolved by the University's Board of Administration (CA) within a maximum of 30 days. The CA's decision regarding the appeal is irrevocable at the level of Transilvania University of Brașov and is communicated to the applicant by mail to the correspondence address indicated.
