Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:
In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 as consolidated and as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position of chief), must contact the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.
Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country borders.
The methodology for the preparation and issuance of the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of the Romanian College of Pharmacists no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;
- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the Romanian College of Pharmacists the standard request for preparing and issuing the document;
- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the Romanian College of Pharmacists will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the Romanian College of Pharmacists, which will prepare and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will keep a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists from that county – and will hand over the certificates to applicants against signature of receipt.

The legislation does not contain special provisions regarding remedies in case of dispute, the common law provisions being applicable.
