Commercial companies that wish to include in their activity object any operations with arms and ammunition must request in advance, at the time of establishment or, as the case may be, modification or extension of their activity object, the approval of the weapons, explosives and dangerous substances unit within the County Police Inspectorate or, as the case may be, the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest, territorially competent regarding the applicant's headquarters/work point. Based on the approval obtained, the legal entity may become a gunsmith by following the legal procedures regarding the establishment of commercial companies or, as applicable, those concerning the extension or modification of the activity object.*
