The procedure describes the method for obtaining/issuing the electronic identity card for minors aged 0-14 years

For a minor accompanied only by one parent, the declaration of the other parent (in which they agree with the issuance of the identity document) must be presented, authenticated at the Romanian diplomatic mission in the state where they are located, at the public notary in the country, or at the competent foreign authorities (translated and legalized according to the legal regulations in force).

Observations:

• Fingerprint images are not collected for minors between 0 and 12 years old;
• Starting at the age of 12, the E.I.C. is issued with fingerprint images;
• The EIC is handed to one of the parents/person mentioned in art. 12¹ of the G.E.O. no. 97/2005, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions;

Minors who have not reached the age of 14 are NOT issued a simple identity card.

If scheduled persons arrive late for the appointment, they will reschedule personally for a later date.

If persons arrive earlier than the scheduled time, they will be attended only at the scheduled time.
