Carrying out the operations of transporting weapons, parts, essential components, and ammunition within the country and, as applicable, outside the territory of Romania, by the gunsmith authorized for this purpose, can only be done using means of transport approved by the competent police authority and is conditioned upon the prior issuance of a permit for the transport of weapons and ammunition, which can be obtained following a request addressed to the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest or the county police inspectorate in whose territorial jurisdiction the domicile or residence is located. The validity period of the permit for the transport of weapons and ammunition is equal to the validity period of the service contract for ensuring products with special characteristics concluded with the unit of gendarmes or authorized gunsmiths (exclusively for a maximum of 25 weapons or 30,000 cartridges).*
