Procedure regarding the recognition by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title obtained abroad*
This procedure establishes the method by which the Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu automatically recognizes the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field obtained in educational institutions. The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained a doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions from the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of establishing on the territory of Romania;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at the governmental or inter-university level.
Submission of the file:
The recognition file may also be submitted directly by the applicant to the Rector’s Office of the University or sent by mail to the address: Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu, 1 Republicii Boulevard, postal code 210152, Târgu-Jiu, Romania. The file is registered at the University Registry and forwarded for resolution.
*Procedure regarding the automatic recognition by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu of the doctoral supervisor status obtained at accredited foreign higher education institutions*
This procedure establishes the method by which automatic recognition is carried out by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu regarding the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad. The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained the status of doctoral supervisor in:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions in the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of establishing it on the territory of Romania;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at the governmental or inter-university level.

*Procedure regarding the automatic recognition by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu of teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from abroad*
The procedure establishes the manner in which teaching positions from accredited higher education institutions abroad, as specified in the annex to OM 5922/15.12.2016, are automatically recognized by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu.
The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained a teaching position in:
- accredited institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited institutions included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, for the purpose of establishing themselves on the territory of Romania;
Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those previously mentioned are recognized only based on an international agreement for mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.
Automatic recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad may occur in the case of participation in a competition for occupying a teaching position, or other teaching activities carried out within Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu.
Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law No. 200/2004 and art. 296 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law No. 1 of 2011 of National Education apply directly.
Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is done in accordance with the legal regulations in force.
