The procedure aims to regulate the granting of social protection measures for the low-income population, represented by monthly aid to cover parts of the heating expenses during the cold season, as well as the method of billing and payment for thermal energy.

The family support allowance is a form of assistance for families with low incomes who are raising and caring for children up to the age of 18 and is granted by order of the mayor of Scânteiești commune.

The granting of the family support allowance is aimed at supplementing the family’s income in order to provide better conditions for raising and educating children, as well as encouraging school-age children, in the care of low-income families, to attend courses organized according to the law in force.

Social assistance is granted monthly, to supplement the monthly net income of the family or single person, to ensure the guaranteed minimum income. The payment of social assistance is provided by the County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection Galați, from the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice. For the amounts granted as social assistance, one of the adult family members must perform monthly actions or works of local interest for all family members, without exceeding the normal work schedule; failure to fulfill this obligation results in the suspension of social assistance payment, and if this obligation is not fulfilled within three months of the suspension, the payment of social assistance ceases.
