Procedure for recognition of teaching positions obtained in accredited educational institutions abroad*
The Romanian-American University automatically recognizes teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, according to the recognition procedure described below.
Eligibility
Eligibility
Eligible to submit applications for the recognition of teaching positions are applicants (Romanian citizens or citizens of the European Union, European Economic Area or Swiss Confederation, as well as citizens from third countries who hold teaching positions obtained in:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions in a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities in other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Research, updated periodically.
For teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those previously mentioned, they are recognized only based on an international convention of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

The Romanian-American University reserves the right to consult, in justified situations - before making a decision regarding any of the received requests - the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) and the National Council for Attestation of Titles, Diplomas, and University Certificates (CNATDCU).
Automatic recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad may occur in the case of participation in a competition for a teaching or research position, or other teaching activities carried out at the Romanian-American University. Automatic recognition of the teaching position obtained abroad must be done obligatorily before holding the competition for a teaching position at the Romanian-American University, if the applicant wishes to participate in the competition. Based on university autonomy, filling a teaching position at the Romanian-American University is carried out according to the applicable legal regulations and its own methodologies.

Procedure for recognition of the title of doctoral supervisor or habilitation, obtained in accredited educational institutions abroad*
The Romanian-American University automatically recognizes the status of doctoral supervisor and habilitation obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, according to the recognition procedure described below.
Eligibility
Applicants who have obtained this status at the following are eligible to submit requests for the recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions in a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Research, updated periodically;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are the subject of an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.
The recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation is granted only for the purpose of exercising the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor or for holding a teaching/research position within the Romanian-American University.

Procedure for the recognition of the diploma and the title of Doctor of Science, obtained from accredited educational institutions abroad*
The Romanian-American University automatically recognizes the doctoral diploma and the title of Doctor of Science obtained from accredited higher education institutions abroad, according to the recognition procedure described below.
Eligibility
Applicants who have obtained a doctoral title at the following are eligible to submit requests for the recognition of their doctoral diploma and the title of Doctor of Science or in a professional field:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Research, periodically updated;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

Applicants who do not fall under one of the situations mentioned above will address themselves directly to the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas within the competent ministry - https://www.cnred.edu.ro/.
The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of Doctor of Science or in a professional field is granted only for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, occupying a teaching or research position within the Romanian-American University.
