Issuance of certificate of membership of the College of Physicians of Romania*

- The membership certificate of the Romanian College of Physicians is issued and released by the territorial college of the Romanian College of Physicians in whose jurisdiction the applicant physician has, as the case may be, domicile/residence or workplace/unit where they are to carry out their activity.

- The membership certificate of the Romanian College of Physicians is granted upon request to the persons provided in art. 376, para. (1) of Law no. 95/2006 on health care reform, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions, who cumulatively meet the following conditions:

a) hold an official qualification title in medicine, according to art. 377, para. (3) of Law no. 95/2006 on health care reform, republished, with subsequent amendments and completions;

b) are not found in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law;

c) are medically fit for practicing the profession of physician;

d) have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained the bachelor's degree in the last 5 years.

Issuance of Current Professional Certificate*

The issuance of the Current Professional Certificate is based on Decision 14/2018 of the National Council of the Romanian College of Physicians.

The current professional certificate is issued by the Romanian College of Physicians, through the territorial college of the C.M.R. of which the doctor is or was a member, the data being valid for the period during which the doctor is or was registered in the respective college.

If the doctor has been a member of the CMR in two or more territorial colleges, he/she will obtain a current professional certificate from each of these colleges.

For the issuance of the current professional certificate at the request of the titular doctor, he/she submits to the competent territorial college the following documents:

a) application – form

b) proof of identity (certified copy “in accordance with the original” of the identity document/passport);

c) proof of payment of the fee into the account of the territorial college issuing the document, the amount being established at the level of each territorial college by Council decision.

The documents can also be sent by postal or courier services, as well as by electronic means with digital signature.

The document will be issued within a maximum of 30 days from the date of submission of the complete documentation.

The current professional certificate is valid for a period of 3 months from the date of issuance.
