The procedure establishes the method by which UNATC automatically recognizes teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and from universities included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated. Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned above are recognized only based on an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

The procedure applies to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and the occupation of a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with legal regulations in force.

​Documents submitted in the file must be in Romanian, in authorized and legalized translation. Applications for recognition that do not contain all the mentioned documents will not be accepted.

The recognition of the teaching position by the National University of Theatre and Film Art is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.

UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” from Bucharest recognizes the quality of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education, provided that the applicant proves the fulfillment of the standards applied to all members of the Doctoral School in accordance with the field of expertise.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no.200/2004 and art. 296 of the National Education Law no. 1/2011 apply directly.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and holding a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal regulations in force.

Automatic recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor by UNATC does not automatically confer membership of the university’s doctoral school.

UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” from Bucharest, as IOSUD, may request other documents for the recognition file, in accordance with the criteria established in its own procedures, to establish fulfillment of the specific standards of the UNATC Doctoral School.

Recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation by UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” from Bucharest, according to its own procedure, is valid and produces legal effects at the university level.

This procedure regulates the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title obtained abroad, in the accredited doctoral fields within IOSUD - National University of Theatre and Film; IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and doctoral title obtained at:

a) accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and from the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited higher education or research institutions included in the List of prestigious universities in other countries approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated; c) accredited higher education institutions that are subject to international mutual recognition agreements, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level;

IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and doctoral title in sciences for the purpose of enrollment in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, occupying a teaching or research position within the university.

​The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title by the National University of Theatre and Film is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.
