The Social Assistance Service ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that involves the upbringing, care, and education of children deprived of parental care, including children with special needs (children with disabilities, abused/neglected children, children with behavioral disorders, children with chronic illnesses, etc.) by a professional maternal assistant, at their home.

The professional maternal assistant is the individual, certified according to the conditions set by law as well as additional criteria approved by DGASPC Caras-Severin, who through their activity ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement.
