West University of Timisoara*

This procedure regulates the automatic recognition at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of academic teaching positions in higher education obtained at accredited higher education institutions abroad, for the purpose of filling a vacant teaching position within UVT, participating in selection committees for occupying teaching and research positions within UVT, etc.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

"Art. 4. UVT is an accredited higher education institution according to legal regulations and, as such, automatically recognizes academic teaching positions in higher education obtained at accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and at prestigious universities from other countries included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated."

"Art. 5. Academic teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in Art. 4 are recognized only based on an international agreement of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level."

The committee that evaluates the recognition file and pronounces a solution regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Committee, is composed of three members: one tenured teaching staff member from the department similar to the applicant's specialization, the faculty dean, and one representative of UVT's Information and Documentation Resource Center. The tenured teaching staff member, member of the Evaluation Committee, shall be appointed by the Dean, with the approval of the Faculty Council." Issuance of duplicate

In case of loss, destruction or deterioration of the recognition decision, UVT shall issue, upon request, a duplicate thereof.

The purpose of this procedure is to regulate the recognition at the level of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of the status of PhD supervisor, for the purpose of affiliation to the doctoral schools within IOSUD-UVT.

The recognition of the status of PhD supervisor, obtained abroad, is carried out based on the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5921/2016 for the approval of the Methodology for the automatic recognition, by higher education institutions, respectively by the institutions organizing doctoral studies in Romania, of the status of PhD supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.

(1) The status of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and in prestigious universities from other countries included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by the order of the minister of national education and scientific research no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, is automatically recognized by UVT.

(2) The status of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained at other accredited higher education institutions abroad than those mentioned in paragraph (1) is recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

(3) The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and citizens of third countries.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and citizens of third countries, who have obtained teaching positions in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and prestigious universities from other countries included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries", approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically.

The purpose of this procedure is to regulate the recognition at the level of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, occupying a teaching or research position within UVT.

The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, is carried out based on the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5923/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad.

The study documents subject to recognition are authenticated with the Hague Apostille for states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, and for other states, the study documents are superlegalized or accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin.

The Committee that evaluates the recognition file and issues a decision regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Committee, consists of 5 members: the director of the doctoral school of the field of the thesis submitted for recognition, a member of the doctoral school specialized in the field of the doctoral thesis, the chief secretary of UVT, a representative of the Doctoral Studies Office, and a representative of the UVT Resource and Documentation Center. The representatives of the doctoral school and of the Doctoral Studies Office are appointed by Decision of the CSUD Director (Annex 2). In the situation where the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in a field that is not part of IOSUD-UVT is requested, CSUD will propose a committee that may include members from other IOSUDs and which may have a structure different from the one mentioned.
